History of the Manukau Symphony Orchestra

The Manukau Symphony Orchestra (MSO) was established by the Manukau City Orchestral Society in 1993 and developed, under the chairmanship of Keith Hyland (Manukau City Councillor 1974-2001), from the earlier Howick Orchestra (established 1974) and the Howick-Pakuranga Youth Orchestra (established 1982).
The orchestra’s patron is Sir Barry Curtis - Mayor of Manukau City from 1983-2007.
