Manukau Symphony Orchestra – “...a very special spirit”

Music Director Uwe Grodd

Manukau Symphony Orchestra Mission: Through our shared passion for music we provide inspiration for our city.

The Manukau Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is a community-based orchestra which prides itself on being inclusive, friendly and welcoming. We aim to make orchestral music and concerts accessible to everyone in our community, with exciting and diverse programming, and a variety of local and international soloists and conductors.

We regularly perform in the Genesis Energy Theatre at the TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre – Manukau City’s top concert venue.

REVIEW: Manukau City's Musical Treasure
"The Manukau Symphony Orchestra has been around for just over fifteen years and its membership ranges from professional players to a handful of school children but under the direction of conductor Uwe Grodd it has grown into a passionate orchestra and is beginning to sound like a very professional group." writes John Daly-Peoples in National Business Review.

"Manukau Symphony Orchestra is a force to watch on the city's musical scene. Although most of its programming tends towards the middle of the road, conductor Uwe Grodd is not above springing surprises."
